Description
The project aims to investigate various atomization processes for producing different, highly particle-reinforced aluminum composite powders.
To date, there is no systematic correlation between the starting materials, the manufacturing processes, the additive manufacturing (AM) processes, and the performance properties of the manufactured components. There is also a lack of comparisons in terms of cost-effectiveness and quality with alternative manufacturing methods such as casting processes. Despite all the challenges, the selected processes have the potential to produce high-quality products from aluminum matrix composites and establish them on the market through adjustments in process control.
Commercially active companies in particular hope that this project will lead to the establishment of new, innovative materials for the mass market and thus an expansion of their product range. This will improve existing business models and contribute to securing and creating new jobs.

Conclusion
Process parameters for processing AMC powder with different alloy compositions were determined in order to print components using LPBF.
