Casting is one of the oldest and most versatile manufacturing processes in metalworking. By pouring liquid metal into a mold cavity, components with virtually any geometry can be produced efficiently. A wide range of metals and alloys can be cast, making the process well established in numerous industries. Thanks to advances in additive manufacturing of molds and the use of sophisticated simulation software, development times in the casting sector have fallen dramatically over the last ten years. Casting is back in fashion!
What is the role of our AMC?
Just like classic aluminium alloys, our AMC alloys can also be cast with minimal process adjustments. This means that existing foundry infrastructures can continue to be used, while at the same time new property profiles can be achieved that are not possible with conventional aluminium materials.
