Metal 3D printing
3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is another type of “casting process.” The component is created almost directly from the existing virtual 3D object that was created using CAD. For metallic materials, this is preferably done using a powder bed process. The contour of the component is created layer by layer using a laser or an electron beam by melting or sintering the powder particles.
This allows components to be manufactured that are almost ready for installation – now also in industrially relevant quantities.

Instead of preparing the powder bed from aluminum powder, for example, you can use our AMC composite powder.

Technical details
AMC powder enables the additive manufacturing of complex geometries with homogeneous reinforcement distribution. The mechanical and tribological properties are reproducible and can be specifically adjusted depending on the SiC content, particle size, and matrix alloy.
